I have previously mentioned that the Chrysler commercials do not focus on their cars and their super bowl commercial was the first of these new advertisements. Instead of focusing on the different statistics of their new Chrysler 300, they focus on its most important quality with one line: “Imported from Detroit.” That one line defines what they want to advertise about their company and their cars. In an age where every car seems to be made in Japan or China, here are Charlotte Chrysler cars that is made in the automotive capital of the United States. “Motor City” is a city that has been hit hard by the recession and Chrysler cars wants Americans to know that they have not abandoned the city the way other car companies have. You can watch the advertisement here.
It is very emotional and just shows the car driving through Detroit while Eminem speaks in the background. Nowhere in the commercial do they mention the Charlotte Chrysler cars specs or do they push financing information down your throat. They just gracefully speak to you. This is a new breed of commercial.
